Mass Hurricanes 15U player Shawn Legere is gearing up for another big year in the EBL. Last season Shawn hit .447 with 72 hits in 57 games.  He had 19 doubles, 10 triples, 5 HR's along with 40 RBI's and 52 stolen bases.  Here is Shawn's interview with the EBL:

EBL:  What program and age level do you play for?

Legere: Mass Hurricanes 15U

EBL: What positions do you play?  What is your favorite position?

Legere: I play shortstop, catcher and relief pitcher.  My favorite position is shortstop.

EBL: What grade are you in? If your in high school what school do you attend?

Legere: I am currently in 9th grade at King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham, Ma.

EBL: What program do you get the most pumped up to play?

Legere: I get the most pumped up to play against Nokona, GBG and the Legends.  Our rival is Nokona and GBG because a lot of the players from both teams were my teammates at one point.

EBL: Is there a game or tournament that you remember the most?

Legere: The Slumpbuster tournament in Omaha, Nebraska was the most memorable tournament that I've played in.  We beat a very strong team from Washington in the Semi Finals. We won the Championship game and it meant a lot to me because of all the hard work we put in as a team. I was on the mound to close out the Championship Game!

EBL: How do you like playing in the Elite Baseball League?  Have you made any friends from other teams from around the league?

Legere: Playing in the EBL is very enjoyable and fun because I can always look forward to weekends and tournaments of competition. It's fun bringing my best to the ballpark everyday knowing I have to compete at my best day in and day out.  I have made friends from other teams whether it's on the field or during the offseason. It's always fun looking forward to playing against people you know on the ball field.

EBL:  I know it's early but where would you like to play college baseball?

Legere:  I definitely would like to play college baseball, hopefully somewhere warm where we can practice all year round, but any opportunity to play at the next level would be amazing.  My dream college is Vanderbilt in Nashville TN because they have a beautiful facility and have some very nice gear along with a great coaching staff.

EBL: Who is the toughest EBL pitcher that you ever faced in a game?

Legere: The toughest pitcher I have faced is Colin Lemiuex from the Legends.  He throws heat and has a really nice curveball that you need to be weary of.  Jared Arone from GBG is also a very good lefty pitcher who has great command on his fastball and has a lot of off speed pitches.
