Maddox "Smiley" Turck is a multi-talented 12u player who always lifts the team with many talents, positivity and leadership. His 12u Bobcats team went 5-0 to capture the 2019 Mill City Spring Tournament last weekend. Maddox is a three-year player in the organization and was handed the ball on opening night at New England Baseball Complex. He plays also plays for Goffstown Jr. Baseball and has been part of two state championship teams. Last season, his team advanced to Little League Regionals at Cranston, R.I., and they are hoping to make it one step further in 2019 and reach the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. EBL: What EBL program do you play for and what age level? 

Turck: New Hampshire Bobcats Division I Team. 

EBL: What positions do you play? What is your favorite position?  

Turck: I play first base, third base, pitcher, and catcher.  My favorite position is 3rd base. 

EBL: What grade are you in? 

Turck: 6th Grade, Mountain View Middle School in Goffstown, NH. 

EBL: What coach or coaches from the Bobcats have had the most impact on your young career?

Turck: I've had lots of great coaches but the coaches who had made the biggest impact are my grandfather Lonny, my 12U coach Ernie Yerrington and program director Kevin Gray who is always there for us.  

EBL: How does your team look this year? What are your team strengths? 

Turck: We have lots of pitching and catching and we are well balanced.  We are pumped up for the EBL division games and the Cooperstown trip in August. 

EBL:  What programs do you get the most pumped to play? 

Turck: Legends Prospects.  We just played them at the New England Baseball Complex and they were the best of the best. 

EBL: How do you like playing in the Elite Baseball League? 

Turck: We love it! Best players in New England! 

EBL: What is the most memorable game or tournament that you have ever played in? 

Turck: It was the first game I ever played with the Bobcats.  We played the 10U Legends Prospects.  Last weekend was awesome because we ended up playing the other Bobcats team in the tourney championship game and won. 

EBL: Besides baseball what is your favorite sport? 

Turck: Basketball

EBL: Who is your favorite MLB player and your favorite MLB team? 

Turck: Mookie Betts is my favorite player and the Boston Red Sox is my favorite MLB team. 

EBL: What is your favorite baseball movie? 

Turck: Benchwarmers
